User’s of Android might have already experience the gaming adventure on their phones but it seems that a new generation of gaming is going to be introduced on the Android phone. Sony Ercisson, a very big and a known name in the cellular industry who still hasn’t launched their cell phone which works on the android platform is working on a project to redefine gaming on Google’s mobile platform.
If you’re a die hardcore gaming fan then this is just the phone you’ve been wanting all your life. This device is a blend of Samsung Captive and PSP GO. It has a landscape slider with game controls in place of the typical QWERTY keyboard. Along side the D-pad, this device is going to have long touch pad for analog controls, alongside the standard PSP buttons and shoulder buttons. The phone is going to have a large display, described as being between 3.7 and 4.1 inches with WVGA or better resolution, a 5 mega pixel camera that is yet not finalized, and it’ll likely have a G Hz Snapdragon CPU on board. The color scheme of the phone is mostly black with some silver highlights, and the game pad area is white / silver in color. Apparently it’s currently branded as a Xperia device, but it looks like it will carry PlayStation branding as well. Those who’ve seen the phone say it looks “pretty damn sexy”.

Moving on from the hardware aspect to the software side, it seems as if the phone will be running Gingerbread – The Android 3.0 Operating Software with a phone-specific skin, and there will be a new area of the Android Market specifically for the games. Initially the content on the phone will only be accessible by the halo device but if these titles match the specs and button layouts then such gaming might be offered on other Android phones also. With what we have heard uptil now it seems that true 3D gaming is headed towards android. Titles currently being shown off are such as the God of War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and LittleBigPlanet possibly on tap, and future plans for titles which incorporate augmented reality features.
However regardless of all the extraordinary features that are being planted on this phone, the release date of the phone as yet not been confirmed but it might be out as early as October of this year. This could be seen as the best deal ever made in the sense that Google gets a much needed push into the gaming and entertainment space for Android while Sony finally delivers the PlayStation phone people have been waiting for. In such a situation what we believe is that its a win win situation for both the company and the consumer of this product. Therefore keep a check on your local listing for more information and till save every penny as it would help you in the end.
